At Stanley Snacks, we're about providing dogs with high-quality natural treats, but we believe that shouldn't come at the expense of the planet. The UK receives millions of online deliveries every day, and with each parcel comes packaging. Cardboard boxes, plastic mailing bags, bubble wrap and fillers can quickly add up, creating waste that often ends up in landfill.

As a small business, we recognise that every package we send is an opportunity to reduce unnecessary waste. By making sensible choices about the materials we use, we hope to play our part in protecting the environment while still ensuring your dog's treats arrive safely.

Keeping Packaging Simple

One of the easiest ways to reduce waste is by avoiding excessive packaging. At Stanley Snacks, we aim to keep things simple.

Rather than using layers of unnecessary wrapping, we carefully pack your natural dog treats so they are well protected while avoiding excessive materials wherever possible. Our goal is to use only what is needed to ensure your order arrives in excellent condition.

Sometimes customers are surprised by how simple our packaging is—but that's exactly how we like it. We'd much rather invest in sourcing quality natural treats than unnecessary fancy packaging that ends up in the bin. 

Reusing Materials Where We Can

You may occasionally notice recycled packing paper or reused protective materials inside your parcel too. These items are still perfectly suitable for protecting your order and help reduce unnecessary waste. This is often paper fill or bubble wrap/fill, I reuse any that I receive - I never purchase bubble wrap even the 100% eco type. 

Choosing Recycled & Recyclable Materials

Where possible, we choose packaging that is recycled and can be easily recycled through household recycling schemes or composted. 

Our cardboard boxes and paper-based packing materials are widely accepted by local recycling collections, making it easier for customers to dispose of them responsibly after unpacking their dog's favourite treats.

However genuinely recycled and recyclable packaging is often more expensive than virgin plastic and bleached alternatives because there is less demand for it. 

Small Changes Make a Big Difference

We can't change the world, but we can work in a way that minimises our impact and believe that small changes made by businesses and customers together can have a significant impact.

Choosing natural treats with minimal packaging, recycling delivery boxes and reusing packaging materials are all simple actions that help reduce waste over time.

Supporting Responsible Shopping

Many of our customers also choose to order larger quantities of their dog's favourite treats. Not only does this ensure they always have plenty of healthy treats available, but it can also help reduce the number of deliveries needed throughout the year.

For customers whose dogs have a particular favourite, we can often supply 1kg bulk packs of many treats we stock on request. Buying in larger quantities can be a convenient option for multi-dog households and frequent treat users while helping to reduce repeated packaging and transport associated with multiple smaller orders.

Sustainability isn't only about what arrives at your door. We also focus on offering natural dog treats that contain simple ingredients without unnecessary additives, colours or preservatives.
